Goodbye 2020

We’re just hours away from ringing in 2021. There is so much to be said about the year that we’ve all been through, but instead of complaining I want to highlight the 3 things that I am grateful for:

  • My husband is the definition of a ride or die. No matter what curve ball came our way, he continued to trust God and put his faith into action. We went from being homeless to getting a place of our own, navigating life & our marriage during social unrest & Covid, and becoming parents during a global pandemic. Our union has grown stronger for sure. God knew that I’d only be able to do this year/ this life with this amazing man.

  • All Glory to God for good health!!! Being pregnant and giving birth during a global pandemic was stressful. The stories I heard about women contracting Covid while they were pregnant had me extremely concerned. Thankfully I had a healthy pregnancy with no complications during labor & delivery. Despite losing a family member to Covid, God kept the rest of my loved ones safe and healed the others who caught the virus.

  • Joining a women’s discipleship program, Queen Esther, has been a huge blessing. Due to mandatory closures, the leadership at my church ensured that we all had the opportunity to get poured into virtually. I’m beyond grateful because this pivot made it possible for me to grow my faith and deepen my relationship with God.I have met the most dynamic women with inspiring testimonies. I have learned so much about myself and my QE sisters through our weekly assignments and Zoom calls. We start our last session this coming Spring and graduate August 2021.

2020 has definitely been a FAITH walk. What was normal became unpredictable and forced us to evaluate all that we believed to be important. As you prepare to close out this year, I pray that you take the time to appreciate the simple things: a hug from a loved one, the ability to breathe without complications, living in the moment, etc. What are somethings you we’re grateful for in 2020? Tell me in the comments section.

Cheers to 2021. May yours be one filled with blessings, growth, love, and the courage to trust God with the next 365 days ahead.

with joy,

Raquel

Things that I’m thankful for in 2020:

1. God’s Faithfulness

2. God’s Protection. I’m no better than anyone else who suffered and passed away from COVID. I’m blessed to still be here.

3. Thankful for my wife, new beautiful Daughter and my family.

4. Thankful for Hope. Hope for another journey around the sun, walking with the LORD.

5. Thankful for Love.
